The Audit

An honest read of where you don't show up in AI search.

$500 one-off. 30-minute fit call before you pay anything. I won't sell you something that won't work.

What's in it

  1. Buyer query map. Twenty priority questions your buyers are asking, baseline-measured across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. Three runs per query per engine. That's 240 data points. You see exactly where you appear, where competitors appear, and where nobody owns the answer yet.
  2. Competitor gap report. Where competitors show up in AI search that you don't. Which sources are getting cited. Where the recoverable gaps are. Which questions they've ignored entirely.
  3. 20-minute Loom walkthrough. I record a screen-share walking through both deliverables, calling out the highest-priority opportunities and the ones I'd skip. PDF for reference, Loom for context.

What's not in it

  • A 30-day content plan (that's for full retainer clients, scoped to their roadmap)
  • Content production. The audit tells you what to write. Writing it is a separate engagement.
  • Implementation hand-holding. You get the report, you decide what to do with it.
  • Promises about rankings or AI citations. Anyone selling those is selling vapor.

Realistic timelines by stage

The audit gives you the same information regardless of where you are. What changes is how long it takes to act on it. Setting that expectation up front so nobody feels misled.

Site stage What the audit gives you Realistic time to visible movement
New site
Under 12 months indexed
The foundation: which queries to target, which competitors to study, which topics to prioritize first 6 to 12 months of consistent execution before AI engines reward you
Established
12 months+ with traffic
Where your existing pages already win and don't, where the recoverable gaps live 60 to 90 days after starting the work
Mature
3+ years, real authority
Surgical opportunities: queries you should rank for but don't, topics competitors abandoned 30 to 60 days for the easy wins

Want to try it yourself first?

The full methodology is documented publicly. If you'd rather run the audit yourself before hiring anyone, the step-by-step guide is here: how to run your own AI search visibility audit. Same 20 buyer prompts, same 4-engine 3-run methodology, same scoring rubric. Free Google Sheet template included. Three to four hours of focused work and you'll have a defensible diagnostic.

Most readers who run the DIY version still end up here. The audit is not the hard part. The fix list is.

Who I'll say no to

So you don't waste your $500 and I don't end up with a bad review. If any of these describe your situation, I'll say no on the fit call and point you somewhere useful instead:

  • Companies trying to out-rank category dominators they can't realistically catch. A new project management SaaS hoping to outrank Asana, Monday, or ClickUp on commercial keywords. The audit will tell you where the recoverable gaps are, but the head terms are not coming back to you.
  • Pre-revenue startups still finding product-market fit. Buyer query data is too unstable when the product itself is moving.
  • E-commerce and DTC brands. Different content economics, AI search isn't the dominant buyer-research path yet for retail.
  • Anyone hoping for "SEO secrets" or guaranteed quick rankings. There aren't any. The audit is methodology and observation, not magic.
  • Companies already working with another AI search agency. Conflicting points of view help nobody. Finish that engagement first.

How it works

  1. You request an audit using the form below. Six fields, takes ninety seconds.
  2. I review and book a 30-minute fit call within 3 business days. No payment until after the call.
  3. On the call, I either confirm fit or honestly tell you it's not. If fit: scope confirmed verbally, $500 PayPal invoice sent same day. If not fit: free thirty minutes of clarity on what would actually help, no purchase, no resentment.
  4. You pay the invoice. Audit work starts immediately.
  5. Delivery within 7 business days. PDF report plus 20-minute Loom walkthrough emailed to you.

Common questions

Why do I have to do a fit call before I can pay?

Because $500 is a real amount of money for a real piece of work, and the audit produces value only if your situation is one I can actually help with. Fifteen minutes of qualification on the front end prevents the bad-fit refund request on the back end. It's also how I avoid bad reviews from people I should never have sold to in the first place.

What if you tell me I'm not a fit?

Then you keep your $500 and walk away with thirty minutes of free clarity on what would actually help your situation. Sometimes that's "you're too early, focus on product." Sometimes it's "you should hire an SEO not a GEO operator." Sometimes it's "this is an honest run, here's what to do yourself." Either way, no charge.

Can I credit the $500 toward the retainer if I upgrade?

No. The audit is a one-off product priced for what it is. The retainer is a different commitment with its own pricing. Bundling would muddy both. If you want the retainer after seeing the audit, the audit is already a fixed sunk cost and the retainer starts at month-one.

How long does the audit take to deliver?

Seven business days from kickoff (which is the day the invoice is paid). The actual operator time is around six hours. The buffer accounts for me running the same protocol I'd run for any client account: three runs per query per engine, manual measurement, real human pattern recognition. Anything faster is automated noise.

Do you do audits for non-B2B-SaaS companies?

Sometimes, depending on the category. The disqualification list above is the strict version. If your situation is unusual, fill out the form and let me see it on the fit call. I'd rather say no on the call than sell you something I'm not confident about.

What format is the deliverable?

PDF report (typically 15 to 25 pages including the data tables) plus a 20-minute Loom video where I screen-share through the report and call out the highest-priority opportunities. Both delivered to your inbox on the same day.
